Scotland County, Missouri contains an interestingly named place called Kilwinning. It had a post office from 1880 to 1907 and is pretty much just a farming community these days. According to research online, the place may have given its name to a soil type, Kilwinning silt loam. Fittingly so, the town was likely named for a city in southwestern Scotland.
There is a cemetery, which likely has a lot more population, albeit non-living, than the town.
